HANDS-ON Color Management Workshop
Ideal for Photographers, Designers and Digital Techs
10am - 5pm
This workshop is ideal for imaging professionals who want to ensure correct, repeatable color in their images. Topics will include clear descriptions of color management terms and concepts, and an explanation of common color workflows. Participants will have the opportunity to work in 127's showroom at Root Brooklyn and use a variety of the latest color tools, including X-Rite's i1 Extreme, Eye One Display 2 and Eye One Isis, to set up a complete color management workflow from display to print. During this hands-on day, we will:
• Set up color setings in the Adobe Creative Suite
• Calibrate a variety of displays and compare the results
• Print with the workflow of the Epson driver & Colorburst RIP & compare the results
• Learn how custom printer profiles can achieve the best print & match the monitor
• Test on one of your own images; so be sure to bring a file! |

Ideal for Retouchers, Post Production, and Prepress
10am - 5pm
Color consistency, repeatability, and meeting standards are critical pieces to an advanced color management workflow. This workshop will take a look at standards such as SWOP, GRACoL, and FOGRA, as well as two advanced RIP systems, EFI and GMG. Using a hands-on approach, we will cover the complete imaging workflow from capture to retouching to file conversion and delivery. Participants will have the opportunity to work in 127's showroom at Root Brooklyn and use a variety of the latest color tools, including X-Rite's i1 Extreme, Eye One Display 2 and Eye One Isis, to calibrate the displays and printers and to proof an image to standard. During this interactive day, we will:
• Set up color setings in the Adobe Creative Suite
• Calibrate a variety of displays and compare the results
• Take a file from RGB to CMYK to a printed proof
• Print to proof files using leading proofing software, GMG & EFI
• Verify the proof meets the standard |
